The wall ashtray is something that I came across whilst walking in Leeds city centre. It reminded me of Siskind’s work as the object depicts urban decay. Visually it is intriguing and photographically it is very striking. I was also able to incorporate my own vision of what I wanted to produce in response to his photographs.
